New York City is one of the most culturally diverse places on the face of the earth and that character certainly shines through in the many iconic corners of the city. With such a booming and unique population, the potential activities for your trip are plentiful. Here is what we recommend:
1) Check out Times Square
Enjoy the scores of bright lights and take photographs in one of the most recognizable city squares on the globe. Stop in at the local shops and take in the surroundings, but if you’re hungry keep in mind that food will be more expensive in touristy areas like this.

2) Break out the Jazz Hands and head to Broadway
With a lineup of some of the best plays ever performed, you’ll definitely find a stage production that seems appealing. There is nothing quite like the majestic allure of Broadway. Just be prepared to leave with the melody of ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ stuck in your head.
3) Walk through Central Park
With a wonderful piece of nature preserved in the heart of the urban chaos, the park is a nice getaway and offers terrific views of the skyline. You can ride in a horse drawn carriage, or just walk around to take in the sights. In the winter season, ice skating is a fun choice and in warmer seasons, visiting the Central Park Zoo is a great option. Hungry? Grab a snack (re: Burger) at the iconic Shake Shack

4) Stand in Awe of the Architecture
The Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, The One World Trade Center, The Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Center, The Flatiron Building, The Brooklyn Bridge and more. Need we elaborate further? With so many renowned places in one region, you could spend days enjoying these marvels. You can even go to the top of certain buildings (for a price) and view the metropolitan area from a stunning perspective.
5) Visit a museum.
There are great museums in many different countries, but New York boasts some of the most impressive and famous exhibits in any place. My favourites are the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The American Museum of Natural History.
6) Eat. And then eat some more.
You will see me consistently recommending eating for multiple destinations because of my deep passion for consuming local fare. However, with a place like The Big Apple, the abundant cultural diversity makes it possible to do a food world tour of sorts. Virtually any type of cuisine you can imagine is available. From some of the planet’s most elite restaurants, to hole in the wall establishments, the selection is nearly limitless. If you have the time, try as many different eateries as possible.

7) People Watch
New York is a non-brainer to check out the fashion that graces the streets. You won’t need to go far to see some of the world’s most fashionable, and most daring fashionistas.
Manhattan is a town that we’re pretty fond of. It’s definitely a location that you should put on your travel list for multiple reasons. Utilizing public transportation is the main means of getting around, so if you are unfamiliar with this system, make sure to bring a hefty serving of patience with you, as learning intricate subway lines can be slightly daunting at first.
