Formerly known as the Sears Tower, the Willis Tower gets you a 360 degree view, 103 floors above the Chicago skyline. Also, in the Skydeck, there is The Ledge, which is a glass box 1,353 feet up. When I heard about The Ledge, I didn’t think too much of it. I thought is it really that much different than standing at a window 1,353 feet up? Um, but it is. I’m not afraid of heights at all, but my stomach definitely dropped for a second. And it is definitely a unique experience to be able to actually stand above all the other high rises, rather than just look out at them. I think my Skydeck ticket was $20 online and the wait was about an hour. But, it’s worth it, for sure. It’s recommended to either go when it first opens or at sunset for the best views.
